(UPDATED: Since June 25, 2025, PGWP eligibility for non-degree programs is restricted. Students in such programs must be in one of 920 approved fields tied to labour market demand. Degree program graduates across all fields remain eligible.)

• have a provincial attestation letter from the province or territory where you plan to study.
• have an acceptance letter from a post-secondary designated learning institution. 
• live outside of Canada when you apply.
• have proof you have paid your tuition for your first year of study.
• have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) in the amount required for your intended province or territory of study.
• have the minimum score required for one of the qualifying language tests.
