Germany Visa Process & Required Documents
The Germany visa process for international students involves several steps, with requirements varying based on factors like nationality, course type, and study duration. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Choose a Course and Institution: Select a course and institution in the Germany as per student profile
- Apply for Admission: Apply for admission and receive a Conditional Offer Letter) from the institution
- Pay Tuition Fees: Student need to pay one year tuition fees mentioned on Conditional Offer letter from their parents bank account. After that university will issue LOA ( L etter of Acceptance) with Tuition Fees Receipt. Both will required for Visa
Students need to open a BLOCK ACCOUNT and reserve 11904 euro which is 11 lacs Rupees. This amount will be withdrawal by student after reaching Germany 992 euro every month till year.
Prepare Required Documents:
Gather documents such as:
- Valid passport
- LOA (Letter of Acceptance)
- Block Account Confirmation Certificate and Statement
- Academic certificates and transcripts (plus experience documents, if applicable)
- APS Certificate (mandatory for Indian students) and TestAS, SAT, or GRE (if required)
- Proof of English or German language proficiency (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, TestDaF, DSH, PTE)
- Health and travel insurance (mandatory)
- Two sets of photocopies of all documents along with originals
- Visa application form and embassy appointment confirmation letter
- Complete the Online Visa Application: Submit student visa application online
- Pay the Visa Application Fee: Pay the visa application fee by demand draft
- Embassy Appoinment : Schedule an appointment at a Visa Application Center (VAC) to submit to visa file and biometric data (fingerprints and photo).
- Attend a Visa Interview (if required): Applicants may need to attend a visa interview, which could be conducted in-person
- Wait for Visa Processing: After submission, wait for the application to be processed. Processing times vary by nationality and other factors. In India, it usually takes 1–2 months.
- Receive Visa Decision: If approved, students will receive a National Visa (D-Visa) sticker in their passport, allowing them to travel to Germany.
- After Arrival in Germany: Upon arrival, students must register their address at the local residents’ office and then apply for a residence permit at the Foreigners’ Office (Ausländerbehörde) to continue their studies.
